The Shark IZ862H Stratos Cordless cordless stick vacuum is one of the more versatile models available on the market.
Its primary vacuum head excels at collecting pet hair and debris while its secondary soft roller can reach into shallow to medium-depth crevices to pull out lightweight allergens. In addition, its HEPA filter and allergen-sealed design are excellent at trapping fine dust particles for efficient dust management.
It may be heavier than alternatives such as the Dyson V11, but that should not make it uncomfortable to hold. Plus, its hinge halfway down its wand allows it to fold up for easier storage and smaller operation.
Clean Sense IQ, similar to what can be found in some Dysons, makes the Shark stand out.
This sensor detects when your floor becomes dirty and adjusts power accordingly, with an LED strip in its floorhead illuminating as soon as the dirt has been detected – although not an enormously beneficial feature, it does help ensure nothing slips through!
As for battery life, the Shark lasted approximately 1 hour and 19 minutes in its eco mode, and 14 minutes in boost mode – both impressive times considering maximum suction power only lasts seconds at most!
This Shark product may be louder than competitors, but that doesn’t preclude its use in most homes without issue. When used in larger rooms, however, its operation can get loud enough to interfere with normal conversation and may become distractingly noisy.
The Shark comes equipped with a dusting brush, Pet Multi-Tool attachment for hard surfaces, wide and narrow crevice tools, and an anti-allergen odor neutralizer – each can last for six months while its post-motor HEPA filter should be changed every two and a half to three years.
It also works seamlessly with their scent pod range if purchased separately – plus anti-allergen odor neutralizer is compatible with Shark’s scent pod line, but they must be purchased separately.
