The Surface Go 2 is equipped with a 1.7 GHz Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB storage for streaming Netflix, surfing the web, and running apps. However, if you plan to perform heavy tasks such as video editing or gaming, then its performance may suffer.
The Go 2’s Intel Core m3 processor, while not as fast as the Pentium Gold in the original Surface Go, is an upgrade over its predecessor and capable of handling most daily tasks and casual use. We recommend staying away from HandBrake though as its CPU stress test may prove too demanding for your Surface Go 2.
Battery life is another area where the Surface Go 2 excels, lasting 11 hours and 39 minutes in our Wi-Fi continuous web surfing test, exceeding the category average by almost an hour.
Due to its fanless design, the Go 2 cannot withstand intense heat well. We don’t recommend it for prolonged usage unless you’re willing to reduce power or passively vent out any extra heat generated.
