This mid-range laptop provides outstanding performance at an excellent value. Available with various CPU configurations to meet any of your computing needs, its keyboard, and touchpad are both solid and responsive while offering plenty of ports and suitable screen size – however its camera may be blurry and its fan noise loud at times.

The VivoBook S17 boasts a dual-storage design that provides you with the best of both worlds: high data performance from an SSD and large storage capacity from an HDD.

Apps can be installed onto the SSD to achieve faster responses and app-loading times, while you use your HDD for larger files like movies, music libraries, and photo albums. Plus, its Intel Optane Memory technology speeds up hard disk performance up to three times faster than regular hard drives!

Meet urgent work projects while on the move with this ASUS VivoBook laptop powered by an AMD Ryzen processor and 8GB of RAM to facilitate multitasking smoothly. Its 17.3-inch NanoEdge full HD display offers vibrant images for immersive work and play.

ASUS Tru2Life video technology enhances each pixel for sharpness and contrast for an accurate representation of lifelike images, videos, and games. Furthermore, color saturation and brightness are enhanced to improve images, videos, and games.

A USB Type-C port with any-way up design enables convenient device connectivity while offering data transfer speeds 10 times faster than older USB 2.0 connections.

Plus, with its built-in fingerprint sensor on the touchpad you can log in quickly while increasing security for files and programs.

MSI GS66

MSI GS66 Stealth 15.6" 240Hz 3ms Ultra Thin and Light Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7-10750H RTX2070...
  • Aspect Ratio:16:9
  • 15.6" FHD, Anti-Glare Wide View Angle 240Hz 3ms
  • Intel Core i7-10750H
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX2070 Max-Q
  • 16GB (8G*2) DDR4 2666MHz | 1TB NVMe SSD

MSI’s GS66 Stealth ultraportable computer has seen significant upgrades since last year and stands out in the 15-inch performance ultraportable category.

The 2022 model features a lightweight yet sturdy aluminum case and boasts a comfortable keyboard and spacious trackpad, along with plenty of ports and connectivity features including support for Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support. Unfortunately, however, its only drawback is lacking an SD card slot.

The 2022 model of MSI’s GS66 boasts an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM memory, and 1TB hard disk drive storage – enough space to run multiple applications at the same time without slowing down performance.

Furthermore, with one of the fastest processors on offer – one of which being an i7-7700HQ which should ensure seamless performance; coupled with its 240Hz display designed specifically to work well with Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

As with the GS65 Stealth, this MSI laptop sports a sleek black aluminum chassis and a subtle dragon emblem on its lid. The sandblasted metal feels sleek and elegant with a matte finish that resists fingerprints and features special touches like Steelseries and DynAudio logos on its wrist rests that help it stand out.

The GS66’s battery can last for two hours of light use and charges quickly; plus its 230W power brick is compact and portable enough to take with you wherever you go. Furthermore, this laptop supports up to 100W USB-C charging for mobile working needs.

The GS66 comes equipped with content creation programs such as Music Maker Jam, AudioDirector, and ColorDirector that may seem unnecessary; you can uninstall these unnecessary applications if desired. Furthermore, it includes a Killer Control Center to prioritize network bandwidth for games or apps that use up a lot of data.

The GS66 also boasts an impressive selection of ports, with three USB 3.2 Type-A connections; two USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 connections supporting Thunderbolt 3 with data and power delivery; HDMI; Gigabit Ethernet port and an audio combo jack (3.5mm audio jack); however, it lacks a card reader – an essential feature in an ultraportable computer.

  • Get maximum performance via Dual Burn Support, which pushes the CPU and GPU together for improved...

The Legion 5 builds upon its predecessor by offering a reliable, powerful laptop at an attractive price point. While its design remains mostly unchanged, Lenovo has added an AI Engine that automatically tunes performance when detecting game activity by setting CPU and GPU power just below where thermal throttling would normally take effect – creating a more consistent gaming experience without needing to constantly alter BIOS settings.

This welcome feature ensures users receive optimal gaming experiences!

Lenovo Legion 5 laptops come in an attractive dark blue shade known as Phantom Blue, while their keyboard area and vents feature black. Their keyboard offers respectable travel and snappy action while their touchpad delivers smooth multi-touch support and solid click action.

This laptop features a 16:10 aspect ratio display, meaning its bezels are narrower than most competitors’ displays. This feature makes the laptop ideal for use as a multimedia device since it enables easy side-by-side viewing of documents or web pages.

For ports, the Legion 5 provides one USB-C port on its left flank that supports up to 135 watts of power delivery; on its right flank there’s also a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port and a 3.5mm combo audio jack; an Ethernet port is also present on the back if you plan on using your laptop as a workstation.

Graphically, this model’s RTX 3070 Ti delivers impressive value for its price point. Metro Exodus was run smoothly at full resolution and framerate without any noticeable hiccups, outperforming most competing laptops in this regard.

Unfortunately, however, battery power performance drop-off can be noticeable for long gaming sessions so we recommend plugging your machine into an outlet instead.

Overall, this budget gaming laptop is an excellent solution for anyone requiring an effective system to support Adobe Creative Cloud software. The chassis feels sturdy and well-made; only minimal flex can be felt when opening or handling roughly. Furthermore, its keyboard provides comfort while speakers deliver clear audio quality.

  • Stay connected with 2x2 WiFi (802.11 ac), Bluetooth 5.0, 2 x USB 3.0, USB 2.0, 3.5mm combo audio and DC...

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is an economical laptop designed for most users’ needs, boasting an Intel Pentium CPU which may fall short when handling demanding tasks like editing high-resolution photos or complex video rendering.

But its SSD’s 1780MB/s read and 839MB/s write speeds make up for that with plenty of speed available for daily tasks – while its comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad keep daily life moving smoothly along. Unfortunately, it does not feature backlighting, however.

The 1366×768 display on the IdeaPad 3 may not meet your standards if you’re used to working with higher resolution displays; its resolution falls short and colors look inaccurate as its narrow IPS color gamut doesn’t cover all sRGB standard colors.

Vertical viewing angles are good; however, tilting can cause color shifts and darkening issues on occasion.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3 offers upgradeable memory, with 4GB soldered to the motherboard and another 4GB available in an external slot which you can replace with an 8GB module for 12GB total. Furthermore, one additional RAM slot on the motherboard supports only an 8GB SO-DIMM module.

The IdeaPad 3 can easily last through an average workday with its 8-hour battery life and light productivity capabilities. While video playback may deplete it faster, its remaining juice should still provide sufficient battery power to get you through one movie or several TV episodes before needing recharging.

This laptop utilizes Windows 11 Home operating system, making it relevant and efficient for day-to-day work. It includes useful features like Snap Layouts and Desktops that make navigating multiple programs and applications simpler.

The IdeaPad 3 speakers are quite subpar, with a thin, bass-free sound that is often found in budget laptops. Unfortunately, its other aspects feel robust and well made – the screen hinge is robust while its outer plastic case seems durable enough to withstand normal wear and tear.

  • Thin and Compact: The CNC aluminum unibody frame houses incredible performance in the most compact...
  • Ready To Connect: Fully loaded with Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, Thunderbolt 3, USB Type-A and Type-C...

The Razer Blade 15 stands out among our selection of gaming laptops as an exceptional combination of performance and style. Its OLED display is stunningly beautiful, while the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU easily handles demanding games.

Furthermore, unlike some competing machines, the Blade 15 features an excellent 1080p webcam perfect for streaming or videoconferencing purposes.

The Blade 15 chassis is constructed from one block of anodized aluminum, offering an optimal strength-to-weight ratio while remaining thin and light enough to travel comfortably.

The keyboard feels solid and durable, and the trackpad offers a large, smooth surface responsive to Windows touch gestures; both feature minimal keyboard flex even during long typing sessions.

Furthermore, there’s an enhanced vapor chamber cooling solution with dual fans and thinner 0.05 mm exhaust fins, providing faster performance and longer battery life; expandable storage is ideal for creative professionals, as its battery can last five hours per charge!

The Blade 15 offers an abundance of ports. On its left edge is a USB-C port for power delivery and two additional USB-A ports which support fast charging; its right edge features an HDMI 2.1 port; while on the back are a lock slot and audio jack for optimal use.

When compared with similar slim gaming laptops like MSI GS65 Stealth or Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 models, its ports are more ergonomically placed to maximize usability.

The only real drawback of the Blade 15 is its price, which is more than twice that of competing devices with similar specs.

However, its Advanced Model includes a powerful Nvidia RTX 3080 mobile graphics card with 16GB VRAM; which may make up for it for Premiere Pro users.

Adobe has optimized many software programs to take advantage of these powerful GPUs including RTX-accelerated exports in Capture One and faster encoding and rendering speeds in Premiere Pro.

Acer Predator Helios 300

Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop, 15.6" Full HD IPS, Intel i7 CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD,...

  • Latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM
  • 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen IPS display, Red Backlit Keyboard
  • 16GB DDR4 DRAM Memory & 256GB SSD | Extra empty expandable hard drive slot for 2.5" hard drives
  • Up to 7-hours of battery life

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is an outstanding mid-range gaming laptop that provides excellent value. A step up from Acer’s Nitro 5 series, it boasts features like a 144Hz screen, more powerful processor, and overclockable GPU – plus it is more compact than competing systems – meaning no back strain when carrying it around! Unfortunately, it does make some noise and overheat easily though.

The Predator’s angular, black plastic chassis may seem subdued for its aggressively named device; but it still stands out. Features like its blue strip along the front edge and silver strips at the base of the palm rest and trackpad help set it apart from just being another piece of tin; details like blue LED strip illumination along the front edge, and zoned RGB keyboard lighting make this machine more than just another hunk of metal; it feels sturdy while providing an appealing alternative to frumpy designs found in competing systems.

Acer’s Helios 300 comes in multiple configurations with different amounts of RAM, storage space, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, or 2070 Max-Q graphics cards – our review unit included one equipped with 8GB RAM, GTX 1660 Ti graphics, and 256GB SSD; this was enough to run both Red Dead 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on High settings without any noticeable stuttering or slowdowns.

The Helios’ 15.6-inch matte, Full HD and 144Hz display is great for fast-and-frantic gaming on its IPS panel; its vibrant colors offer exceptional vibrancy.

Unfortunately, its slanted corners and sharp front lip may prove annoying while typing or when used on desks with limited arm support. Luckily, its spacious click pad comes equipped with Precision drivers making its use a pleasure; though its lack of haptic feedback might bother some.

Acer’s Helios keyboard doesn’t offer quite the same level of customization as that found on Razer Blade 15, but there’s still enough room to feel comfortable, and responsive and quiet keys that provide plenty of customization options.

Also included is a full-sized number pad built into its keyboard along with a mute button on its top row; battery life is average; this device charges via USB C and features dual-band 802.11ac WiFi as well as a DVD drive and two USB ports – not to mention software which eliminates Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) while reducing negative Blue Light emissions to preserve eyesight preservation!

ASUS ROG Strix G15

ASUS ROG Strix G15 Gaming Laptop, 240Hz 15.6" FHD 3ms IPS, Intel Core i7-10750H CPU, NVIDIA GeForce...
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with ROG Boost
  • Intel Core i7-10750H
  • 15.6" 240Hz 3ms Full HD IPS Display
  • 16GB DDR4 3200MHZ RAM | 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD | Windows 10 Home
  • Gig+ Wi-Fi 6

As its name implies, this laptop from Asus caters specifically to Adobe users. You’ll find various configurations with eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPUs paired with Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics – an expensive top-end GPU which costs nearly PS500 when purchased separately – providing exceptional value.

Furthermore, 16GB of RAM is included, along with either 512GB or 1TB NVMe SSD options for storage needs.

Asus has left no stone unturned when designing this machine, and you’ll quickly notice this from its design. The lid boasts the company’s ROG logo with a brushed finish while the rest of the plastic chassis feels sturdy when turned. There are no creaks or squeaks when twisting around its chassis either.

At 28mm at its thickest point, this machine helps keep itself cool – an especially crucial feature when running Adobe software which may lead to throttling issues if there’s not enough airflow through to cool its components.

We had no issues when playing games either and didn’t notice any heat problems around the keyboard area either.

The touchpad is soft and responsive with two discrete mouse buttons and Windows 10 gestures working flawlessly. The ROG Aura Creator app allows for control over lighting effects like Breathing, Rainbow, or Strobing; other extras include Dolby Atmos speakers as well as an RGB backlight that syncs to music.

One minor drawback of the Strix G15 is its lack of a webcam, which could prove problematic if you plan to use the laptop for video calls or recording sessions.

Otherwise, connectivity is adequate with three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbits/sec) ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 with DisplayPort support and USB Power Delivery enabled, HDMI output, and 3.5mm headphone jack connectivity; we would have liked an SD Card slot but consider that to be only minor quibble.

MacBook Pro 16 2021

Apple 2021 MacBook Pro (16.2-inch, M1 Pro chip with 10‑core CPU and 16‑core GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB...
  • Apple M1 Pro or M1 Max chip for a massive leap in CPU, GPU, and machine learning performance
  • Up to 10-core CPU delivers up to 2x faster performance to fly through pro workflows quicker than ever
  • Up to 32-core GPU with up to 4x faster performance for graphics-intensive apps and games
  • 16-core Neural Engine for up to 5x faster machine learning performance
  • Longer battery life, up to 21 hours

Apple’s latest MacBook Pro lineup marks a return to functionality over form and the 16-inch model in particular. Perfect for videographers, photographers, designers, coders, and music producers frustrated with prior generations’ lack of ports and physical keys; with ProMotion display making high-resolution editing much simpler when mobile.

The Macbook Pro is an engineering marvel, packed with remarkable productivity and video editing performance in a slim package – though at a weight and thickness cost. Its latest Intel processors – M1 Pro and Max – rival even workstations such as Dell XPS 15 or Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 which cost considerably more.

ProMotion display features an adjustable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a mini LED backlight, along with hardware acceleration for ProRes video playback. The keyboard feels great to type on, the trackpad is responsive and big, and the webcam delivers sharp images for video calls while the speakers deliver impressively loud and clear audio playback.

For those wanting to connect an external monitor, the MacBook Pro features two full-sized HDMI ports on its right edge and one Thunderbolt 4/USB 3 port on its left edge, along with support for two 6K displays at 60Hz and three 6K displays with its M1 Pro configuration or three with its Max version.

Furthermore, USB-C devices and UHS-II cards can also be accommodated within their memory space.

Apple’s MacBook Pro starts at $2,499 and includes both an M1 Pro processor with a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU and 16GB unified memory plus 512GB SSD for storage.

You can upgrade to an M1 Max processor for $200-400 more if additional power is desired. Although its starting price can be intimidating to some buyers, exploring all available discounts online may help gain clarity into your options.
