The SteelSeries Apex Pro keyboard is one of the most flexible available. As the first of its kind to offer an adjustable actuation setting that lets users choose how much force is necessary to register a keystroke, users can lower or raise its force settings depending on whether gaming or typing is taking place, reducing typos and accidental keystrokes respectively.
Combine all this versatility with customizable lighting features and an integrated command center and you have yourself an ideal gaming keyboard!
As with other SteelSeries products, the Apex Pro strives to offer high levels of customization through keycaps and RGB lighting. It features custom software which allows users to register different profiles with various lighting patterns; individual keys can also have individual colors added for further combinations.
It even comes equipped with its own command center which displays useful information to assist users when changing settings or creating macros.
SteelSeries OmniPoint 2.0 key switches power this model’s latest update, much like those found on its wireless counterpart Apex Pro TKL.
These linear switches are more durable than previous generations while offering more leeway in terms of actuation – giving you the ability to customize individual keys’ actions depending on how hard you press them – such as light presses for forward movement or firmer presses for sprinting.
SteelSeries suggests using light presses for walking forward while firmer presses may trigger differently depending on how hard or softly press an area button; though there are endless possibilities!
Adjustment of each key’s actuation can be done both through software and an OLED display onboard the keyboard itself, which makes for a convenient feature as you can see how each key responds without opening up the software itself.
Unfortunately, though, the process for doing this may be complex and intimidating for beginners – something that hampers an otherwise impressive keyboard.

Logitech has made gaming keyboards less obtrusive with this minimalist design of their keyboard, offering a basic black-and-gray model without branding and any extra flashy features such as RGB lighting or Caps Lock indicators – providing a refreshing departure from 2017 keyboard market offerings.
This keyboard will appeal to gamers looking for something simple yet reliable. Equipped with a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver that works right out of the box without drivers or additional settings needed, Bluetooth compatibility, multiple device support, and large footprint keys that make for easier finding, it also features a back stand that tilts up or down depending on how you prefer typing.
Logitech and Omron collaborated in creating Romer-G key switches, which offer a quieter alternative than Cherry MX switches while still offering firmness and an easily discernible actuation point. They may not provide quite the same snap as other mechanical key switches but should satisfy most people.
The keyboard features a full-sized numeric pad and standard ins/del/home/tab blocks for typing regular documents. It comes equipped with some media buttons – nice but probably unnecessary for regular typing – for convenience and media controls are built from sturdy plastic with matte finishing that’s less of a fingerprint magnet than some gaming keyboards; not as heavy but still quite heavy!

Corsair’s K63 keyboard is an affordable alternative to Corsair’s larger models, featuring no number pad and reduced footprint, yet still providing great performance and customization features for gamers who favor functionality over flashy features.
Equipped with Cherry MX Red switches as its big brother keyboards as well as red LED lighting that doesn’t allow customization of RGB color settings – all are features worth considering for gamers looking for simplicity over extravagant features.
The keyboard can be operated wirelessly through Bluetooth, a wired connection using a USB cable, or its own 2.4GHz wireless receiver. It supports two simultaneous connections with two separate devices at once while providing 100% anti-ghosting for accurate keypress recording and featuring up to 75 hours of battery life when backlighting is turned off.
Corsair’s portable mouse is compact enough for easy transport, featuring a detachable wrist rest and rubberized 1.8-meter cable with USB wireless receiver on one end. Their iCUE software enables customization of backlighting options despite only offering one color choice.
Although small, the K63 feels robust and secure. It features an attractive rugged aesthetic for an elevated gaming experience and comes equipped with a textured wrist rest for optimal quality.
Corsair has done an outstanding job at including key information in its package. Pictures of the keyboard accompany helpful and detailed descriptions as well as quick start guides and warranty coverage information.
Corsair provides an extended two-year warranty for their K63 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, making them very generous compared to many other manufacturers who only provide one-year warranties.
They offer a reasonable return policy as well as free software updates for life! It is available from Amazon at an attractive price; highly recommended if traveling gamers or those needing portable solutions are your target market!

The Turret was created from scratch to address one very specific challenge: adding mouse and keyboard gameplay to Xbox Series X. It’s a high-end gaming keyboard/mouse combo featuring a BlackWidow mechanical keyboard paired with Mamba-style wireless mouse for seamless PC-like gameplay – complete with Razer Green switches and RGB lighting!
Plus it comes equipped with an easy slide-out lap mouse pad – ideal for fast-paced shooters like Fortnite or the first-person pirate game Sea of Thieves!
The keyboard and mouse both include dual USB ports that enable users to plug in a wired mouse (it comes included) or connect wirelessly through Bluetooth or 2.4GHz connectivity.
When I connected wirelessly for review purposes, I was amazed by how sturdy my review unit felt on my lap – no shifting or shaking during lengthy gaming sessions – thanks to two powerful magnets along the top right edge of its mousepad deck.
Razer’s Turret mouse and keyboard both come equipped with 2m braided cables for ultimate portability and are compatible with their Synapse program for customization of keyboard and mouse usage.
However, its main limitation lies with Xbox gaming specifically; only certain shooter games such as Fortnite or Sea of Thieves currently support mouse-and-keyboard input; including Wargroove for instance.
At $250, this keyboard and mouse combo may seem pricey; however, this should not be taken as a dealbreaker when purchasing. I hope Microsoft and its development partners keep adding games to its lineup; until then, however, the Turret provides an effective way of improving couch gaming experiences.
Though heavy – the Turret weighs in at approximately 4.1 pounds with a pull-out mouse pad included – its construction remains sturdy and well-made; serving as an example of what engineering combined with premium materials can create.

Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo is an ideal choice if you’re searching for the ideal keyboard to complement your Xbox Series X console.
Not only is it inexpensive and simple to connect, but it also has an enjoyable typing feel too; membrane keys provide an engaging bump at midstroke. Plus it provides ample travel as well as being ergonomic. Finally, its mouse also features a light click that’s still comfortable!
Corsair K63 Keyboard and Lapboard Combo make for another fantastic Xbox Series X keyboard solution, featuring the TKL form factor found on many gaming laptops and ensuring perfect placement on your lap.
The keyboard slots into one half of the lapboard, secured to its other half using clips at its back – giving a secure fit that won’t budge no matter what! Furthermore, this setup offers 2.4GHz wireless connectivity as well as a 2950 mAh internal battery to last hours before needing another charge.
This ambidextrous keyboard offers features not found elsewhere, such as an ergonomically positioned scroll wheel and dedicated media control hotkeys. Plus, this product’s durable keys and spill-proof design make for easy cleaning; plus its Windows layout works flawlessly with Xbox.
As opposed to many of the best keyboards for PC gaming, which offer both wired and wireless connections, the Xbox Series X and S only support a limited range of peripherals via its Bluetooth signal – though most keyboards and mice that plug in via 2.4GHz dongle will work with your console.
Razer Turret is an example of an Xbox Series X keyboard that supports both wired and wireless connections, including its wireless receiver tucked under a flap on the keyboard, as well as its USB dongle for mouse connection.
Furthermore, its low latency 2.4 GHz connection offers several customizable RGB backlight options and provides low-latency gaming sessions.
Razer Cynosa Chroma Gaming Keyboard
- All-Around Gaming Performance: Able to execute up to ten commands at the same time with built-in key...
- Ultimate Personalization & Gaming Immersion with Razer Chroma: Fully syncs with popular games, Razer...
- Spill-Resistant Design: Built to withstand most accidental liquid splashes
- Fully Programmable Macros: Razer Hypershift allows for all keys and keypress combinations to be remapped...
- Durable Construction: Supports up to 80 million clicks with a 2 year manufacturer warranty
Razer Cynosa Chroma is an affordable gaming keyboard featuring per-key RGB lighting – usually reserved for more expensive models – that makes its RGB illumination uniquely customizable and can display 16.8 million colors, as well as various preloaded lighting effects. The keys can also be individually customizable.
This keyboard comes equipped with a standard-length USB cable and an ergonomic angle, complete with rubber feet to keep it stable, two height-adjustable stands, and rubber feet for stability.
Furthermore, its plastic build may feel cheap but is durable enough that keystrokes remain quiet and responsive but don’t offer a tactile feel like that of mechanical keyboards.
This keyboard comes equipped with its own proprietary software called Synapse 3 beta that enables users to customize it and make it suit their needs. The software allows for mapping any key to specific keyboard or mouse functions; launching programs, Windows shortcuts, text functions, or switching profiles as desired – even assigning a button directly in-game for quick switching!
Individual keycaps can also be individually backlit, giving this keyboard an unforgettable look that can be tailored to meet any aesthetics or suit personal taste. Unfortunately, though, this doesn’t work well when typing in dim light environments.
The Cynosa is equipped with media control buttons and a Windows lock function, preventing Alt+Tab and Alt+F4 from accidentally being enabled during heated gaming matches. You can easily configure these functions in Synapse software – perfect for gamers who don’t want to accidentally minimize their game!
Unfortunately, however, the Cynosa does not come standard with wrist rest support (common in most gaming keyboards); you may use software to add one if desired. Still, for its price this budget keyboard offers ample features: simple controls, color choices galore, and responsive keypad functionality make this an excellent budget gaming choice to help get you going in PC gaming!
HyperX Alloy FPS Pro
- Ultra minimalistic ten keyless (TKL) design ideal for FPS pro
- Cherry MX mechanical key switches
- Portable design with detachable cable
- Game mode 100 per cent anti-ghosting and N key rollover functions
- HyperX red backlit keys with dynamic lighting effects
The HyperX Alloy FPS Pro keyboard is an ideal budget option for gaming on PC, featuring red backlighting that makes the keys easily visible in dark rooms, customizable options, no software support, responsive performance, and minimal wrist fatigue during long gaming sessions. Perfect for FPS and MOBA gamers; however if looking for one with dedicated macro keys look elsewhere.
Comparative to its Alloy Elite predecessor, the FPS Pro features a more compact design and uses fewer raw materials and switches resulting in lower prices. Furthermore, the FPS Pro stands out by featuring red keycaps which help players quickly locate them during battle. This feature allows more space on your desk.
Both the Alloy Elite and FPS Pro use Cherry MX switches, though only one offers RGB backlighting and custom software customization – the Alloy Elite features full RGB backlighting while FPS Pro only has red backlighting – providing less latency and a smaller footprint while being ideal for gamers on a tight budget.
The Alloy FPS Pro’s keycaps are constructed from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic, an economical material commonly found in keyboards. Their uppercase serif font and center-top alignment make reading them easier, and their heavy construction prevents sliding when playing for extended periods of time.
The FPS Pro mechanical keyboard is an excellent budget option for gamers seeking a full-featured mechanical keyboard experience. Equipped with metal frame construction, RGB lighting, and Cherry MX switches – as well as dedicated media keys (though one would normally expect these on most keyboards), the FPS Pro makes for a solid upgrade from their current keyboard or can introduce someone new to mechanical keys.
