As for the keyboard, it features numerous iPadOS-specific keys in addition to its standard QWERTY layout and number row.

The Apple Magic Keyboard may look like an add-on for Mac desktops, but this keyboard also works seamlessly with iPads and iPhones.
Connected via Bluetooth wirelessly to an iPad, no software installation is required – simply start using it right out of the box! It features backlit keys with RGB settings for customizable brightness – these can be tailored specifically to meet your needs!
Additionally, since this keyboard was made specifically to work with Apple software (Cmd and Opt), all standard iPad shortcuts (such as Command/Option) come preloaded.
The Magic Keyboard converts an iPad into a hybrid laptop, but it is far from ideal. One major drawback of using an attached keyboard is that the iPad cannot open when attached; hence it must only be used either as a tablet or laptop.
Apple offers an option of purchasing a case that doubles as a stand to address this problem but this only solves it temporarily.
Another drawback of the Magic Keyboard is that it does not support Apple’s Smart Connector; to connect other accessories (such as an external monitor) you will require a USB-C hub. Furthermore, its weight of 3 pounds makes it nearly as heavy as an iPad Pro base model 12.9″.
Overall, however, the Magic Keyboard does an outstanding job at turning an iPad into more of a laptop experience. Typing is smooth and trackpad support is impressive – so if you have enough money and want a way to turn your iPad into an actual laptop device this keyboard may well be for you.
The Magic Keyboard may not be rugged, but it offers many useful features. These include an Apple Pencil holder built into an adjustable stand with three viewing angles and durable clips to securely keep the iPad in place.
There’s even an extra USB port – great for long-use sessions! Unlike most iPad cases, this one also works with third-party wireless keyboards and mice – something not all cases offer! But at $299 for the 12.9-inch version and $349 for its smaller counterpart, it doesn’t come cheap!
