The ZAGG Pro Keys Detachable Case is an ideal way for users to transform their iPad into a laptop, providing users with a sturdy protective case and keyboard offering a full typing experience with a trackpad and backlighting.

Easy to use and compatible with two devices at the same time, the Pro Keys has an Apple Pencil slot as well as shortcut keys on its keyboard; although its price point might not match an Apple keyboard case.

ZAGG offers another key advantage by including a USB-C cable for charging. This allows for convenient keyboard charging without taking it out of its case; its battery can last for an impressive year-plus! Furthermore, its lightweight nature makes transport easy.

Comparable to Apple’s Smart Keyboard, ZAGG Pro Keys is more cost-effective and feels superior in construction. Easy setup makes this sleek design keyboard ideal for desktop or lap use; when open it stands up at an angle for use on tables or laps.

Furthermore, its small form factor fits easily in side pockets of bags or briefcases when traveling – perfect for traveling!

One downside of the ZAGG Pro Keys keyboard layout can feel cramped; the delete key is in an unexpected place on most other keyboards, which might make some users uneasy. Still, this accessory makes an excellent companion for iPad 8th Generation owners looking for additional keyboard and folio functionality.

ZAGG Pro Keys is an impressive keyboard for iPad that includes an integrated trackpad, backlighting, and shortcut buttons.

Additionally, this adjustable stand offers multiple viewing angles and holds Apple Pencils securely with up to 8 feet of drop protection – not to mention it works with both the original iPad Air and its successor iPad Air 2.

If you’re shopping for an iPad 8th Generation keyboard case, one designed to support multiple devices is sure to make life easier. Logitech’s model connects simultaneously to three devices while enabling easy switching via its numbered keys in the top left corner of the keyboard.

Furthermore, this device can differentiate between Mac and Windows computers while mapping keys for specific functions and keyboard shortcuts, making this one of the best keyboard cases available today.

If Apple’s Smart and Magic keyboards don’t fit within your budget, this keyboard offers an affordable alternative. It features a full-sized keyboard for an enjoyable typing experience and offers various switch types to meet different pressure, sound, and feel preferences – making this keyboard an excellent value!

This keyboard and trackpad are fully compatible with iOS, macOS, and Chrome OS devices – an ideal companion for iPad 8th Generation tablets and other similar tablets running these operating systems.

Plus, they automatically recognize which device they’re connected to so it maps keys automatically while remembering shortcuts – eliminating IT support needs altogether!

You can choose between standard grey to match any office setup and more vibrant magenta or orange for those looking for some flair with their work.

Its keyboard may be smaller than that of traditional laptops but still feels very comfortable for long sessions of use – plus its portability makes taking it anywhere with no fuss a reality.

When attached to an iPad, this keyboard’s design eerily resembles that of a MacBook, creating an uncanny experience. The keys are well-spaced and its backlighting works flawlessly, boasting an impressive two-year battery life that uses standard AAA batteries that are readily available everywhere.

Logitech Options software enables you to configure various aspects of this keyboard; including which keys act as function buttons and what type of backlighting to utilize.

Logitech Slim Folio

  • 4 year battery life: Powered by replaceable coin cell batteries. (Based on 2 hours of use per day).
  • Apple Pencil Holder: Slide your Apple Pencil into the holder– where it won’t get lost, or in the way....

Logitech’s Slim Folio iPad keyboard case offers excellent value at its lower price point. While not providing as much protection, its typing experience remains solid, and durability allows it to withstand everyday use for years.

In addition, its features such as its backlight and dedicated keys for dictation or selecting emojis make this product truly desirable – though be warned that its illumination might not meet everyone’s standards! However, most may find its backlight quite dim a drawback.

This keyboard was made for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and is similar in size and design to Apple’s Smart Keyboard Folio. Constructed of gray rubbery material to complement its exterior color and match that of both the screen and case of the new iPad, its case covers all but corners leaving holes for speakers, camera, USB-C jack, and slot that charges Apple Pencil.

Weighing 1.6 pounds this case still makes it easily portable compared to similar cases but requires more room in a backpack or purse than a traditional laptop.

Slim Folio keyboards don’t rely on Apple’s special Smart Connector as their keyboards do; rather, Bluetooth connections allow compatibility with all generations of iPads and most Android tablets. Unfortunately, however, you won’t get as many functions like trackpad and adjustable viewing angles with these keyboards.

This basic, functional keyboard is ideal for those who prefer being able to type wherever without taking out their iPad from its case.

It’s an economical solution for those without enough budget to purchase more expensive models; however, its limitations don’t compare favorably with more versatile options like K380 or Brydge Pro keyboards in terms of typing positions offered and premium materials used.

On the other hand, its plasticky feel doesn’t match those offered elsewhere – however, it remains affordable, durable, and multifunctional!

If you want an iPad-and-trackpad combo that transforms your tablet into a small laptop but are unsure whether you can afford Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio, here is an affordable alternative: Combo Touch fully encases your tablet while providing both keyboard and trackpad in an attractive case with versions for multiple iPad models.

While it doesn’t feature its signature folding design like Apple Folio does, this solution feels more secure and doesn’t slide around when closed – something Apple Folio cannot.

The Combo Touch offers a comfortable laptop-like keyboard with backlit keys to provide ample lighting in dim lighting environments, providing both excellent tactile feedback and enough travel for easy on the fingers.

In addition, there is an iPadOS-specific row of keys, along with a function row containing a home button, media playback controls, and brightness adjusting keys – plus it includes a pass-through USB-C port to connect directly with other laptops or computers.

Once you’re finished typing, simply detach the keyboard and use your iPad in View mode to read, sketch, or watch videos without being distracted by an opaque screen between you and its gorgeous tablet display. With its 50-degree tilt feature and convenient kickstand for optimal viewing angles, finding your ideal viewing angle should be simple!

The Combo Touch case may add some weight to your tablet, but its durable exterior resists fingerprints and smudges better than most cases.

There’s an integrated magnetic closure that holds it securely in place and cutouts for all speakers, the Apple Pencil charging port, camera lens openings, and cameras – ideal for keeping it protected when traveling!

The battery can last up to six months with two hours of daily usage and connects wirelessly through Bluetooth – eliminating the need for external chargers.

Ideal for iPad Pro owners seeking a laptop-like experience with its generous trackpad. However, iPadOS still holds it back from feeling fully like a traditional laptop replacement – though still suitable for casual reading and typing or quickly writing reports.

  • FOUR USE MODES - Four use modes and an adjustable kickstand let you comfortably use iPad for any task...

The Combo Touch iPad keyboard case is an impressive iPad accessory that transforms it into an effective laptop competitor.

Offering more protection than Apple’s Magic Keyboard Folio and a superior keyboard feel over its trackpad, the Combo Touch also takes full advantage of iPadOS 13’s trackpad support to offer some excellent keyboard shortcut options previously unavailable on older iPad OS versions.

Although slightly thicker when closed than Apple’s version, that shouldn’t be an issue for most.

Its fabric-like texture is much nicer and easier to keep clean than Apple’s glossy finish and offers greater versatility when positioning an iPad – the kickstand can be set at three angles to allow typing or viewing in landscape mode – or it can even tilt downward for drawing or video editing purposes.

As for the keyboard, it features numerous iPadOS-specific keys in addition to its standard QWERTY layout and number row.

The top row contains media playback controls and volume adjustments while the bottom row offers system and multitasking commands. There is also an easy back button as well as an on/off button that illuminates keys similarly to what iPadOS provides.

Combo Touch offers convenient portability with its detachable keyboard and trackpad unit that is easily removed from its folio for carrying around with an iPad – unlike Apple’s model which lacks such ability.

This makes this product much better than competing models that do not allow the separation of the stand and keyboard from the tablet itself.

This keyboard and case bundle from Logitech is ideal for anyone wanting to take their iPad work seriously. Although more costly than Apple’s offering, this keyboard offers superior protection as well as more versatile functionality with a larger trackpad and additional features.

If you want something portable that provides the same Mac-like typing experience, consider the Keychron K3.

It is a low-profile mechanical keyboard designed to work with iOS and MacOS so that it can be used on either iPads or desktop computers – Bluetooth 5.0 compatibility also means multiple devices can connect simultaneously with it.

If you need a mechanical keyboard that works seamlessly with an iPad 8th generation, the Keychron K8 may be an excellent option.

As one of few keyboards designed specifically to be compatible with both iOS and MacOS platforms, it offers various switch types to customize the typing experience as well as a built-in Apple pencil holder, all while being durable and ergonomic in design.

The Keychron K8 Tenkeyless model offers reduced desk space but provides all of the same functionality as most full-sized keyboards. Plus, with media keys to conveniently control music and movies on tablets.

It connects to your devices using Bluetooth 5.1 and can pair up to three at the same time. In wired mode it comes equipped with a USB-C cable for added flexibility, is compatible with Windows and macOS OS systems, and features hot-swappable switches so you can change them whenever it suits you.

Choose between plastic or aluminium frames, and four distinct switch options available to the Keychron K8. My own personal favorite is Gateron Brown; its quality switch provides a smooth feel and sound quality, as well as featuring an exclusive light effect key that cycles through various effects.

One of the best features of this keyboard is that you can quickly switch between Mac and Windows by pressing a side button, saving time in switching operating systems frequently.

Furthermore, there’s also a multimedia key that activates virtual assistants in both OSes – although ideally this could be mapped to the Fn modifier so it could be tailored according to user preference.

The Keychron K8 features an eye-catching design with a heavy feel, complete with a high-profile aluminum bezel that adds extra durability. Even when tilted sideways it remains very stable while its keys offer ample travel without creaking or flexing; making this portable keyboard an excellent option.

Logitech K780 Multi-Device Wireless

  • Comfortable typing: full size, fully equipped keyboard with large, quiet keys and convenient Number pad
  • Integrated phone and tablet stand: Holds your devices at the perfect angle to Type and read
  • Wide compatibility: works with Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, iOS and Android devices

The K780 keyboard is an excellent choice for anyone seeking both trackpad functionality and solid typing experience.

Specifically geared toward iPad users, its unique Unifying receiver technology connects wirelessly with devices via both Bluetooth and Unifying receiver connection allowing it to work with various types of devices including Macs and Windows PCs without special software required to access its advanced features.

Another thing we love about this best iPad keyboard is how simple and comfortable it is to set up and use.

The backlit keys with iPadOS shortcuts make finding what you need much simpler, while its sturdy trackpad can handle even heavy-handed multitasking without becoming unwieldy – we tested this keyboard under loads and it held up beautifully!

Be mindful that the K780 may be too bulky for travelers who want something smaller, but still easier than carrying around an actual laptop. Furthermore, its stand can fold into different angles for comfortable viewing in bed.

Logitech offers an iPad keyboard folio with built-in storage for Apple Pencils that has plenty of premium features and functions, including faux leather back panels and backlit keys for easier use in dim lighting conditions. Plus, its battery lasts for 24 months without needing frequent recharging!

While expensive, the K780 keyboard for iPad is the ideal solution when switching back and forth from Netflix viewing to furiously typing out documents or reports. Plus, its built-in cradle can accommodate four smartphones/tablets at the same time!

Apple Magic Keyboard

Apple Magic Keyboard - US English, Includes Lighting to USB Cable, Silver
  • Magic Keyboard combines a sleek design with a built-in rechargeable battery and enhanced key features.
  • With a stable scissor mechanism beneath each key, as well as optimized key travel and a low profile,...
  • It pairs automatically with your Mac, so you can get to work right away.
  • And the battery is incredibly long-lasting—it will power your keyboard for about a month or more...
  • System Requirements: Bluetooth-enabled Mac computer with OS X 10.11 or later, iPad models with iPadOS,...

The Apple Magic Keyboard may look like an add-on for Mac desktops, but this keyboard also works seamlessly with iPads and iPhones.

Connected via Bluetooth wirelessly to an iPad, no software installation is required – simply start using it right out of the box! It features backlit keys with RGB settings for customizable brightness – these can be tailored specifically to meet your needs!

Additionally, since this keyboard was made specifically to work with Apple software (Cmd and Opt), all standard iPad shortcuts (such as Command/Option) come preloaded.

The Magic Keyboard converts an iPad into a hybrid laptop, but it is far from ideal. One major drawback of using an attached keyboard is that the iPad cannot open when attached; hence it must only be used either as a tablet or laptop.

Apple offers an option of purchasing a case that doubles as a stand to address this problem but this only solves it temporarily.

Another drawback of the Magic Keyboard is that it does not support Apple’s Smart Connector; to connect other accessories (such as an external monitor) you will require a USB-C hub. Furthermore, its weight of 3 pounds makes it nearly as heavy as an iPad Pro base model 12.9″.

Overall, however, the Magic Keyboard does an outstanding job at turning an iPad into more of a laptop experience. Typing is smooth and trackpad support is impressive – so if you have enough money and want a way to turn your iPad into an actual laptop device this keyboard may well be for you.

The Magic Keyboard may not be rugged, but it offers many useful features. These include an Apple Pencil holder built into an adjustable stand with three viewing angles and durable clips to securely keep the iPad in place.

There’s even an extra USB port – great for long-use sessions! Unlike most iPad cases, this one also works with third-party wireless keyboards and mice – something not all cases offer! But at $299 for the 12.9-inch version and $349 for its smaller counterpart, it doesn’t come cheap!
