The SHOKZ OpenComm2 UC is a bone-conduction headset, meaning it doesn’t encase or surround your ears; rather it uses two small speakers situated on either side of your head to transmit sound.
This design makes it suitable for work from home environments because you remain aware of your surroundings while still having one ear open for crucial calls.
Furthermore, its USB cable connects directly to your computer to charge up the headset when not in use – though most won’t find this essential, it should still be kept in mind in case it needs charging up between sessions or listening sessions.
With its innovative bone conduction technology and Shokz’s signature open-ear design, the OpenComm2 UC is a PC-compatible Bluetooth headset designed by Shokz for maximum hands-free communication and situational awareness – ideal for working from home.
It works seamlessly with major communication platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Skype for seamless usage. Plus it leaves both ears completely open so as to facilitate hands-free communications and maximize hands-free situational awareness – truly making this the ultimate working from home headset!
Other headphones require you to place them over your ears, making them heavy, bulky, and sometimes painfully uncomfortable for extended use.
In contrast, the OpenComm2 UC headphones are light and comfortable thanks to their flexible around-the-neck frame; plus they’re water resistant – meaning that even during walks or bike rides they won’t be damaged by spilled coffee or raindrops!
The OpenComm2 UC features 7th Generation Bone Conduction Technology that creates an authentic listening experience while remaining aware of your surroundings.
Plus, with PremiumPitch 2.0 this ensures you never miss an important call or listening session! Ear fatigue is alleviated with this headset by not placing pressure on your eardrum.
Furthermore, its microphone picks up high-frequency vocals and captures clear voice capture, so you can communicate clearly even in noisy environments.
Plus, integrated headset operations reduce the need for separate PC and mobile device controls; you can easily adjust audio levels, mute/unmute calls without taking off your headset, play/pause music without interruption and check battery levels without taking it off.

Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro offers modest upgrades over its first-generation model while maintaining its classic aesthetic.
Though still costly, they provide the best noise-canceling earbuds for work from home environments thanks to longer battery life and enhanced noise-canceling technologies – as well as an innovative case with an integrated speaker that alerts when its battery level falls too low or opens or closes unexpectedly. They even come equipped with smaller ear tips tailored specifically for those with smaller ears!
The newer AirPods Pro offers an enhanced high-end response and can reproduce more complex music, from hip-hop and bass-heavy genres such as dubstep to smooth vocals from Big Thief’s Dragon Warm Mountain I Believe in You acoustic recordings.
Apple claims their H2 chip provides up to twice more noise cancellation than their predecessor; though this claim cannot be tested as their initial product already provided excellent noise isolation even in loud environments.
An important advancement comes with the addition of touch controls on each earbud. You can use them to manage playback, take calls or activate Siri; previously this required using either your phone or Siri to change volume – now swiping upward or downward on the stem itself does the trick!
While Apple’s AirPods Pro are excellent, they face stiff competition in the true wireless earbuds market from rivals.
Google’s Pixel Buds Pro costs less, features a portable magnetic charging case and boasts more features including noise canceling, Bluetooth multipoint support, and voice assistant integration.
Sony WH-1000XM4s are another top choice for work from home settings as they feature noise cancellation/passive isolation features as well as long battery life and a built-in mic that automatically mutes when removed from ears plus an audible feature to hear your surroundings while listening to music!
Apple AirPods Pro should be at the top of your shopping list if you own an iPhone. They make for excellent work-from-home earbuds and work just as well on non-Apple devices when needed.
Their sleeker design provides an upgrade over their first-generation counterparts; additionally, their improved case has more features than previous iterations, including an audio speaker to help find them using the Find My feature and 24 hours of music playback capability.

Evolve2 Flex stands out with its long battery life. When equipped with noise cancellation enabled, the headset can last for 24 hours of use, with 37 additional hours when turned off in ANC mode.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are an upgrade on an iconic series and boast an innovative new design, improved noise isolation, and audio quality.
Equipped with adaptive noise canceling that learns your environment and adjusts accordingly to keep you focused, they feature soft padding around the ears and headband for long listening sessions without placing too much strain on your skull or feeling tight around your ears; although some movement may occur while running.
The 1000XM5s’ sound quality surpasses expectations when it comes to Sony ANC headphones, including impressive bass response and crisp high-mids. Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy drum beat is clear and punchy while the treble provides plenty of clarity and detail while remaining non-shrill.
These Sony wireless headphones feature an on-ear touch panel with simple swipes and tap for controlling music and media with simple swipes and taps.
Sliding up or down changes volume; forward or back swipe skip tracks; double tapping plays or pauses your music; they even detect when they have been removed, pausing media playback until you reattach them!
Plus they offer multiple connectivity features, like Bluetooth Multipoint which enables simultaneous pairing between devices as well as DualSim support to allow simultaneous mobile and wireless connections.
The WH-1000XM5s feature outstanding active noise cancellation with eight microphones – double the number found in its predecessor – monitoring external and internal sounds to block out background noise.
Their QN1 ANC and V1 processors combine for exceptional performance, and Auto NC Optimizer makes it simple to optimize their functionality; additionally, AI helps determine the ideal audio settings based on your specific environment for an unforgettable listening experience.
The Sony WH-1000XM5s can deliver up to 30 hours of music on a single charge or you can switch them into Ambient mode to hear what’s going on around you.

As with other Anker headphones on our list, the Space Q45 provides excellent value at an extremely reasonable price.
They’re comfortable to wear and have an elegant look while offering superior performance; additionally, they come equipped with adaptive noise cancellation and inbuilt equalization features only typically found in more costly headsets.
The Space Q45 boasts impressive sound quality thanks to its 40mm double-layer diaphragm drivers.
Their balanced blend of deep bass, warm mids, and crisp highs should satisfy most listeners; although these headphones don’t boast as many drivers as premium models do, they provide an outstanding mix of music genres making them suitable for home use.
These speakers are compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, supporting SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs but without aptX support for higher-quality wireless audio streaming.
Furthermore, these headsets come equipped with an EQ mode called BassUp which enhances low frequencies to deliver richer sounds with better balance.
Noise-canceling is one of the Space Q45’s many strengths; they excel at filtering out both lower-frequency noises such as traffic or background chatter and higher-frequency sounds such as vocals or creaky plastic, even surpassing more expensive Bose QC 45 models in this respect. Not everyone will be satisfied with their level of performance though.
These headphones include a soft carrying case, USB-C charging cable, and 3.5mm analog audio cables – with only their slightly clunky and unintuitive controls standing between them and being an all-around winner.
Unfortunately, they lack touch gestures or wear detection (so don’t automatically pause when removed), though their multifunctional buttons on the right earcup do work as intended and provide good tactility.
The Soundcore Space Q45 headphones are some of the best home office headphones, thanks to their long battery life and stellar audio quality.
Furthermore, these over-ear headphones boast impressive active noise canceling as well as multiple customizable transparency modes, all for an extremely affordable price tag – making these exceptional over-ear headphones capable of competing with expensive options like Bose headphones.

Bose has invested considerable effort into making the QuietComfort 45 as comfortable and functional as possible.
These over-ear headphones feature an elegant minimalist collapsible design featuring a sturdy headband and plush synthetic leather earcups; their sound profile is neutral, making them suitable for various content, blocking out more ambient noise than many competitors and come equipped with SimpleSync functionality enabling wireless audio streaming across Bose headsets, speakers and soundbars.
The Bose QC45 offers several improvements over its predecessor, the QC35 II, including improved battery performance and a more comfortable fit.
Bose reinforced its headband with glass-filled nylon for increased resilience against wear and tear, while its metal hinges have been upgraded for enhanced durability – less chance of them getting caught on objects, plus they now boast elegant laser-etched logos instead of plastic logos!
Bose has made some upgrades, yet their QC45 still falls behind some other competing models on this list. You can use its multi-function button to trigger your smartphone’s voice assistant; however, hands-free Alexa or Google Assistant support is currently unavailable.
In any event, the Ambient Aware mode provides an immersive listening experience through headphones without using a microphone from the phone.
We found the QC45 to offer solid audio quality that was slightly above average for this price range. They performed particularly well when listening to electronic music, yet struggled to bring out details in certain songs.
Furthermore, these headphones had an annoying tendency of overemphasizing high frequencies which can sound harsh when listening to newer mixes such as Logic’s No Pressure and Lil Nas X’s Montero; something particularly noticeable with newer mixes that emphasize vocals such as these two tracks from our tests.
The Bose QC45 headphones are more streamlined than, for instance, Sony’s WH-1000XM3 Wireless, lacking features like air pressure sensors and automatic pausing when taking them off – as well as Hi-Res support – than their Sony counterparts.
Furthermore, its accompanying Bose app has an easy and straightforward user interface offering only essential settings options.

The Barracuda Pro headphones are versatile headphones suitable for gaming, everyday audio playback, and work from home use.
Their closed-back design effectively blocks out ambient noise to give audio an intimate feeling as if coming directly from within your head.
Padded and sturdy with an interior stainless steel headband providing rigidity; their good fit provides comfort over long hours of wearability; they even connect seamlessly via USB-C for ultimate connectivity between various devices!
Razer Barracuda Pro headphones provide impressive audio quality for an entry-level pair, featuring exceptional frequency response consistency and clarity of sound.
Their bass response consistency is outstanding while their clarity of sound can sometimes become slightly bass-heavy; additionally, the treble range can sometimes sound slightly muffled due to poor fitment or sealing around ears.
These headphones feature exceptional build quality and an elegant aesthetic, with only minor branding – including a small Razer logo on each ear cup and along the top of the headband – being noticeable.
Made mainly of matte black plastic with some glossy accents for an elevated look, all pivot points turn smoothly while feeling sturdy, while tiltable ear cups ensure optimal comfort for long sessions of listening.
On PCs, Razer Synapse software enables customization of audio and mic performance for Razer headphones, including THX Spatial Audio which helps create an immersive listening experience through virtual surround sound and enhanced clarity in noisy environments.
There’s also a 10-band graphic EQ with presets and voice control features allowing you to toggle ANC off/on and adjust the balance for optimal results.
These headphones come complete with a hardtop carrying case designed to protect them, featuring well-defined headphone grooves to keep the headphones from getting jostled around while stored away in your bag or briefcase.
Perfect for anyone seeking a single pair that can serve multiple tasks simultaneously with an excellent battery life of 34 hours!
