Lenovo’s Flex laptop line may not be as well-known, but it still boasts several distinct advantages.

The latest edition of the 14-inch Flex 5 is an extremely lightweight hybrid laptop-tablet computer with reliable performance and long battery life; making it a suitable option for students taking notes in class or working on homework from home.

Unfortunately, however, its subpar display and subpar build quality stand as major drawbacks of this particular model.

The Flex 5 stands out with its powerful AMD processor and graphics card, particularly its Ryzen 5 4500U chip with six cores and six threads – outclassing comparable Intel options found elsewhere in similar-priced laptops.

This combination makes this laptop ideal for productivity as well as moderately demanding creative tasks like photo and video editing.

The Flex 5 stands out as one of few budget laptops using dedicated graphics instead of integrated ones, making a notable difference in performance.

Additionally, its 16GB of memory should provide ample resources for multitasking and running RAM-intensive programs; plus its 1080p, 60Hz IPS screen makes working in well-lit rooms easy.

Unfortunately, its speakers produce muffled audio at higher volumes – external speakers may provide better listening.

You will find Windows 10 Home preloaded on this laptop, making it suitable for general use. Its S mode limits app downloads exclusively through Microsoft Store to increase security and boost performance; however, this means you cannot install Adobe or other non-Microsoft programs.

The Flex 5 offers several ports, such as a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type C port and HDMI connection for external displays. Its 256GB solid-state drive offers plenty of space to store documents, videos, and games; in addition to that it features a full-sized SD card slot for memory expansion.

The Lenovo Flex 5 laptop is an excellent option for students searching for a lightweight yet portable solution that doubles as a tablet computer. With its solid-state drive, long battery life, and efficient CPU it makes an ideal companion in school or at home for taking notes or light work tasks.

  • 1 - USB Type-C port USB 3. 2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps) DisplayPort over USB Type-C and USB Charging, 1- USB...

The Acer Swift 3 is one of the top budget laptops for graphic design, boasting both outstanding performance and sleek aesthetics. Featuring a thin display with a well-built keyboard and trackpad that is also slim in design.

Plus, with long battery life, you won’t have to be near an outlet while working.

The anti-glare screen cuts down reflections while getting plenty bright – perfect for use under sunlight or dim light conditions; the smooth trackpad is responsive yet comfortable texture; the Acer Swift 3 may not look quite as beautiful but outperforms other comparable laptops while still making an excellent budget choice that runs graphics programs efficiently.

The Swift 3’s base configuration starts at $619 – an incredible bargain in today’s market! This machine boasts a 14-inch 1080p touchscreen, an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U hexacore CPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD – much lighter and thinner than current MacBook Air or Pro models while offering plenty of performance at a fraction of their price point.

Acer offers configurations with up to an Intel Core i7 CPU and 16GB of memory, all featuring the same chassis, ports, keyboard, and trackpad in silver color and chassis design. Ryzen 5 processors may cost slightly more but deliver more powerful results.

Acer has made several modifications to this version of the Swift 3, including switching from a barrel-plug charger to USB-C. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports as well as two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port – along with a headphone jack and Kensington lock slot on the keyboard, plus a finger sensor in its power button.

The Swift 3’s display is generally satisfying out of the box, though its default colors appear oversaturated and its gamma doesn’t follow the sRGB curve.

However, its color gamut is truly impressive, covering not only full sRGB and DCI P3 color spaces but almost all Adobe RGB space as well as perceptually accurate at a standard 6500K white point to benefit eye health.

This laptop is an ideal option for artists on a tight budget who need a high-quality computer with accurate colors and brightness, plus fast performance and lots of storage space.

Additionally, its USB-C port makes connecting external monitors and keyboards simple; its IPS screen displays accurate colors and brightness while its only drawback is whites having a purplish tint – though most will not find this a big issue.

The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is an all-in-one device that combines tablet and laptop functions into one sleek package. This small, lightweight computer boasts a hard fabric cover with book-like proportions.

Fold part of its cover to prop up its display or use magnetic clips on its back as an attachment point to use like a tablet – great for students taking notes or sketching in class! Plus it can use any USI stylus making it an ideal option for taking notes or sketching during classes.

Its MediaTek processor and 4 GB of RAM may seem underwhelming for a laptop designed to fulfill basic office duties, though they still work adequately – although you might notice some slowness if there are too many tabs or apps open simultaneously.

Furthermore, its keyboard space is somewhat cramped; unfortunately, it cannot accommodate a full number pad like other Windows notebooks do.

Battery life is exceptional, lasting all day without needing recharging. This feature makes the iPad Pro perfect for artists who spend much of their day creating artwork and need something portable that stays charged all day long.

No matter whether you are an art student or a working professional in the field of art, having a laptop that provides an unhindered creative experience is vital for productivity. You should consider factors like size, weight, and thermals when selecting the ideal laptop.

There are plenty of budget laptops that provide the performance needed at a fraction of the price of more expensive computers; best examples for artists include Acer Swift 3 14″, Dell Inspiron 13″, and Lenovo Chromebook Duet models.

Acer – Chromebook Spin 714

Acer’s Chromebook Spin 714 delivers impressive specs at an unbeatably affordable price. Its convertible form factor sets it apart from many other budget laptops, while its Intel 12th Generation processor makes this machine capable of competing with high-end Windows laptops without breaking the bank.

Apart from its stellar performance, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 also comes equipped with plenty of ports for productivity needs. As well as standard USB-C and USB 3.0 connections, two Thunderbolt 4 ports enable fast external storage access. Plus, its battery lasts over 11 hours in my video loop test!

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714’s display is bright enough for working in well-lit rooms, too. At 445 nits brightness level, it trails only slightly behind competitors like Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2 or Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 but still outshines competitors such as Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3.

Additionally, its antimicrobial Gorilla Glass gives it added durability.

For those who prefer not to touch a keyboard with their fingers, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 includes a USI stylus for added convenience and accuracy. Its slot doubles up as a charger; just 15 minutes plugged in will provide enough energy for four hours of use!

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714’s sole drawback is its small touchpad, which could become annoying for users who rely on it for navigation and other tasks. Furthermore, this laptop lacks a microSD card slot to expand its storage capacity.

If you need something smaller and more powerful than the Acer Chromebook Spin 714, take a look at the Acer Chromebook Pro CX5. With its compact form factor, it fits easily in your bag, yet still offers powerful performance. Unfortunately, it comes with limited ports compared to its larger sibling.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is ideal for hybrid workers, students, and teachers who require powerful computing with a budget-friendly price point. Plus, its reinforced aluminum body has passed MIL-STD-810H testing to protect it against minor drops, vibration, rain, and dust!

If you need a light yet powerful laptop to power your creative projects, the Apple MacBook Air might be perfect.

Although Apple recently replaced it with the more eye-catching MacBook Pro 2021, the Air continues to provide an incredible value price point due to its superior Apple Silicon chip which gives it an edge over competing 13-inch laptops running Intel processors.

Although it lacks the Touch Bar or fast SSD found on its larger cousin, the MacBook Air features the M1 chipset for class-leading performance compared to other laptops in this price range.

It is noticeably faster than previous MacBook Air models and even matches up well against Dell XPS 13 photo-editing tests.

Plus it boasts an incredible 13.3-inch Retina display with True Tone support and a high P3 color gamut; plus its keyboard boasts scissor switches instead of butterfly keys which many disliked previously.

M1 allows the Air to access an impressive selection of iOS and iPad apps, opening up a world of more powerful and graphically impressive tools than ever before. We tested several iOS games on it without issue – truly game-changing!

Apple notes that some legacy Mac apps will require a Rosetta emulator to run. However, Apple asserts that most existing Mac applications should work fine on the M1 without additional support such as Rosetta.

The main drawback of the MacBook Air is that it only comes equipped with two USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports and a headphone jack, making plugging multiple accessories at the same time somewhat challenging.

But this issue shouldn’t prove insurmountable since most users won’t need all its additional ports anyway; making this model an excellent value buy for creative professionals who require an ultra-slim, lightweight machine with excellent battery life and performance capabilities.

Artists utilizing various software applications require powerful laptops in order to do their work. Certain applications, like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, are only compatible with Windows-based computers; if you’re searching for an affordable option consider Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 16″.

It features a lightweight convertible design with a bright screen display and built-in stylus pen as well as ample storage capacity to hold all of your files and documents.

While 2-in-1 laptops typically lack the same power as desktop PCs, Lenovo Yoga 7i packs enough punch to run most professional art apps. Its quad-core Intel i3 processor offers ample power for graphics-intensive tasks and its NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU makes this laptop suitable for video editing and other demanding tasks.

This budget-friendly laptop is an excellent option for artists. It features a bright screen, long battery life, and an attractive design; plus its light and portable form makes it easy to transport. Furthermore, its array of ports makes this an excellent choice for students.

A great, budget-friendly laptop for artists should feature fast storage drives and powerful CPUs to make working more efficiently and saving time easier. Furthermore, make sure there is ample memory on board so as to enhance performance faster and increase productivity.

Display is another key consideration when purchasing a laptop for artists. A large, high-resolution screen with IPS technology ensures accurate colors.

If you’re an artist on a budget, look no further than Lenovo’s Yoga 7i 2-in-1 16″. This laptop boasts excellent performance and an incredible display, all for less than $500 – making it a wise investment that allows them to create and edit videos, photos, and music without breaking the bank.

The Pavilion x360 laptop is an all-around versatile option with an expansive screen, stylish exterior design, and impressive specs at an attractive price point.

HP offers various configurations with variations to chassis color, RAM count, built-in storage capacity, and display size; for creators on the move its LTE version (model 14-dw0097nr is particularly handy.)

Our review model features an Intel Core i5-8265U (“Whiskey Lake”) processor which should meet most users’ needs without becoming unnecessarily fast.

With two cores working together to handle demanding apps more efficiently than just one core could, however, the Pavilion x360 has plenty of memory and an SSD to handle these extra power needs without becoming overwhelming.

A light fan noise often accompanies most activities and may become distracting when typing on the keyboard, though not loud enough to interfere with video playback or other quiet activities.

The touchpad stands out with its large surface area, Precision drivers, and support for multi-touch gestures; and its comfortable keyboard boasts roomy keys without feeling cramped.

These speakers are surprisingly durable and can easily fill small to medium rooms with music. While this model doesn’t feature Bang & Olufsen speakers, the audio quality is very impressive for its price point.

As with most consumer laptops, the Pavilion x360 comes preloaded with an abundance of bloatware – extra apps preinstalled by HP so you can purchase or trial them – in hopes you’ll purchase or at least trial some.

It’s not unusual to find offers such as free months of Microsoft 365 or other software as well as shortcuts to Amazon, Dropbox, and ExpressVPN in its Taskbar.

The Pavilion x360 is relatively lightweight for a 2-in-1 and feels solid when held in tablet mode, particularly compared with Acer Spin 3 or Huawei MateBook D.

Additionally, its selection of ports is quite satisfactory; you can upgrade its battery for an extra fee. In terms of usage timeframes, its battery can easily last through one day of regular PC use but will reduce more quickly during resource-intensive work or streaming videos.

The Surface Pro 8 is an exciting update to Microsoft’s popular tablet/laptop hybrid, featuring slimmer bezels and faster hardware.

Its PixelSense display offers a beautiful 120Hz refresh rate while performance from 11th-generation Intel processors is impressive, providing a smooth inking experience with the new slimmer pen.

Unfortunately, however, it lacks both headphone jack and microSD card slot support, but does come equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports to connect accessories or external monitors.

This Surface Pro 8 is slightly heavier and thicker than its predecessor – as is to be expected from a device designed as both laptop and tablet – although still more portable than the iPad Pro (which runs regular desktop software and has access to an extensive tablet app ecosystem).

On the upside, it remains an excellent choice for artists and other productive users, thanks to its great typing experience and battery life. However, creative types who wish to play games or run demanding video editing applications will likely find other devices more suited. Its limited graphics cannot handle their needs.

Another drawback of the Pro 8 is that it no longer features fanless cooling, potentially increasing its likelihood of overheating when used under sustained loads.

But considering the extra speed and storage offered by today’s processors, that seems a minor sacrifice to make in exchange for additional speed and storage capabilities.

Features-wise, the Pro 8 offers an outstanding trackpad and decent keyboard compared to modern laptops like Apple MacBook Air or ThinkPad X12 but lacks their superior build quality and starting price of $1,579 with Core i7-1185G7 CPU, 32GB RAM, and 256GB SSD (more expensive than an Apple MacBook Air with similar specifications).

The Pro 8 lacks both stylus and keyboard accessories, which must be purchased separately.

While this may pose issues for some buyers who might prefer the physicality of real keyboard and stylus accessories over virtual ones, those who value such an upgrade still find this model an exceptional upgrade that more than makes up for its price difference.
